Red-Light Runner!

In the 7th month, 28th day of the year 2008 at 2:16pm I was caught violating the law, my approximate speed was 47 in a 45. "RED LIGHT VIOLATION" is what the Mesa Municipal Court is calling it, and indeed by the following photo they are correct!
(for those of you who didn't catch that, I am the red Toyota Sienna)

Don't I look like I'm in a hurry! I mean don't they understand that I am running late and wasn't trying to disobey the law. The good news here is, as you can see the car seat in the back of me is empty. I was all by myself disobeying the law.

But, I am sad to say it, I made the choice and now I have to pay the consequences- traffic school here I come! Five and a half hours of learning how to drive better, and to make it even more special, the school is scheduled over Labor Day weekend.

Moral of the story is don't run red lights!

The First Day of School!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Monday was the first day of school. I am so happy, every morning for the entire school year I have time to myself! Well not really, my MCC classes start on Aug. 25 but for now I love it.

Aaron is in Early Learners (it is just like 1/2 day kindergarten).
Next year he will be in all day kindergarten.

Emily is in 2nd grade and loves it. They get snacks mid-morning, she says it helps 2nd graders think better. As you can see, she is really into HSM.

Becca is in 4th grade and is excited for orchestra this year. She bought this bag with her own money. She is getting so big

The last two weeks!

Life has literally been a whirlwind the last two weeks! This is why I haven’t been able to blog. In preparation for Gary and Amber’s wedding, Melissa and her kids came from Utah to stay for two weeks until the wedding .

We had to finish sewing little girl dresses, prep for the luncheon, attend a bridal shower, be there as Amber received her own endowments and get family pictures. It really sounds exhausting, but we (my sister and I) loved every bit of it. DJ’s girlfriend Jena also came to visit us for the two weeks, we are so grateful we couldn’t have done it without her help. I don’t know how we pulled it off, with going to sleep every night at wee hours in the morning.

Ambers Bridal Shower

Here we are at the bridal shower. Using a roll of toilet paper, we separated into teams and created a wedding dress to be judged by the bride herself. My team won, only because we used half of the roll to stuff Sanya’s bra!
