Mothers day

Mothers day was fun. We all met at Calvin and Sanya's house for a BIG dinner. We had Mom and dad, Sanya's mom Arleen and younger kids, Jordan, Tamra and kids. Newly engaged Gary and Amber. Dj with his girl friend (I don't think they are dating, just friends), Brady and myself with our kids. Philip and Nina with there kids and Nina's mom. It was a huge group, but a fun time to get together.

Brady and Calvin did the cooking, it was delicious! The mom's didn't have to do a thing and we all got to eat first (even before the kids). Clean up was - sit back and relax for all the women. Here are some fun pics of mothers day. Oh I can't forget, Kyle, Becca, Emily and Bailee did a magic show for us.

English 102

Some of you may have known me during my college years and, well...... I wasn't the greatest student I was more or less interested in dating. I always blame my husband that I didn't finish my degree! He distracted me. Oh! You and I know that is a huge excuse. Bottom line, I didn't finish. Each semester I am taking a class here and there trying to finish. I still have a long road ahead of me, but I am working towards some kind of degree. This last semester I took English 102. I was really dreading it (like all the classes I take). It is hard juggling school and family but I did it anyway. Now the semester is over and I am happy to be done with it. I am also happy to report what my teacher e-mailed me, so here it is.

An e-mail from my English teacher:

The grade report I'm sending should show all your grades for the semester and hence tell you your final grade for the class. Congratulations. You finished first out of about fifty people. Well done.

YEAH! I am so excited, it pays to study!

Kitty cat cake....ugh!

Becca really loves cats; she has a cat webkinz, cat posters, and cat folders (remember that stage of childhood when your school folder had an animal on it). Anyways she would really love to have her very own kitty cat. The problem is, Brady really loathes cats, and I don’t care for them. Cats make my eyes itch, just thinking about them, my eyes are itching. (I must be allergic to them.) Because of her love for the kitty cat, I have found the perfect birthday cake for her…… Just follow the directions. Maybe this will deter her from wanting one.

CAKE INGREDIENTS:
1 box spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 box of white cake mix
1 package white sandwich cookies
1 large package vanilla instant pudding mix
A few drops green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls or equivalent

SERVING "DISHES AND
UTENSILS"
1 NEW cat-litter box
1 NEW cat-litter box liner
1 NEW pooper scooper

1) Prepare and bake cake mixes, according to directions, in any size pan. Prepare pudding and chill. Crumble cookies in small batches in blender or food processor. Add a few drops of green food coloring to 1 cup of cookie crumbs. Mix with a fork or shake in a jar. Set aside.

2) When cakes are at room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with half of the remaining cookie crumbs and enough pudding to make the mixture moist but not soggy. Place liner i n litter box and pour in mixture.

3) Unwrap 3 Tootsie Rolls and heat i
n a microwave until soft and pliable. Shape the blunt ends into slightly curved point "s". Repeat with three more rolls. Bury the rolls decoratively in the cake mixture. Sprinkle remaining white cookie crumbs over the mixture, then scatter green crumbs lightly over top.

4) Heat 5 more Tootsie Rolls until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with crumbs from the litter box. Heat the remaining Tootsie Roll until pliable and hang it over the edge of the box. Place box on a sheet of newspaper and serve with scooper. Enjoy!

Father's and Son's

Aaron has been so excited all week for this weekend’s Fathers and Sons camp-out he would wake up every day and say, “Is it today?”

A few days ago Aaron and I were at Brady’s office eating lunch, upon leaving, Aaron got a post-it note and scribbled on it, gave it to Brady and said, “Dis is to wemind you of faddors and sons… don’t forget.” In his cute little boy voice.

Brady and Aaron went and bought a new kids fishing pole for Aaron.
